The production manager is our fearless leader on the production floor and oversees all aspects of production, including but not limited to:
1. Setting a production schedule/calendar based on the current volume of orders to ensure all current orders are produced & shipped on time.
2. Notifying the online team if at any point order volume exceeds output ability and lead times for online products need to be increased or decreased for a given period.
3. Overseeing machine & team operations - ensuring all machines are running seamlessly and consistently throuhout the day, maximizing our facility's output.
4. Assesing production quality
5. Assessing production success based on "on-time" shipment rates and making necessary adjustments as needed.
This role requires a self-starter with a great deal of personal organization & the ability to set & maintain scheduling as well as communicate with all teams.
Production Floor
Packing & Shipping Floor
Shipping label coordinators work at our main shipping desk using a program called Shipstation. Shipping label coordinators must be proficient on the computer with quick data entry skills. A strong attention to detail is needed to ensure all production codes are matched up to their corresponding order number to ensure all packages are shipped to their correct customer. The shipping label coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all production codes are complete at the end of the day, ensuring all items have shipped on time. If any items designated to ship for a given day missed their deadline it is the responsibility of the shipping label coordinator to communicate this to both the production manager as well as the customer service team. All daily "shipmaster" logs must be reconciled and any gaps must be prioritized for the following shift's first shipments.
packing & shipping Floor
Our packing team works on our first floor as well with our assembly team and often toggles between working assembly & packing.
Packing work is also fairly intuitive and does not require a great deal of training, but does require careful attention to detail as well as an ability to meet an hourly quota of signs packed. In addition, it is critical that packing team members are able to follow the dated production codes to ensure orders are packed correctly by brand and in the correct order as efficiently as possible.
Packers, as well as assembly crew members must be flexible to help out in other areas of the wood shop when asked or needed if all items have been shipped and additional production floor assistance is needed.
Packing & Shipping Floor
Our assembly crews work on our first floor, to quickly assemble all orders that have left the lower level production floor. Assembly includes gluing many of our products by hand, at times selecting the appropriately colored backboard and following our branded order codes to ensure the item is correctly assembled using our product templates.
Assembly work is fairly intuitive and does not require a great deal of training, but does require careful attention to detail and steady hands able to work quickly with fast drying glue. Assembly team members must be able to meet our hourly quota of signs assembled. In addition, it is critical that assembly team members are able to follow the dated production codes to ensure orders are assembled in the correct order and as efficiently as possible.
CNC, LASER, AUTOMATIC SPRAY BOOTH, SANDERS, EDGEBAND, ETC..
Our machine operators are responsible for keeping our machinery running throughout the day in order to maximize our production process. Operators are often responsible for overseeing multiple machines and all aspects of their operation including file processing, upload, on-loading, off-loading & labelling.
Experience operating any of our machines is a great asset, but not required, as all machine operations & file creation can be taught on site. An ability to multi-task and follow a production schedule is required along with a strong ability to follow instructions regarding proper machine operations & protocols as well as the ability to correctly code and organize all products offloaded from your machine to ensure the rest of their production process runs smoothly.
Job Descriptions
Manual spray booth
Our painters are responsible for using our manual spray booth to paint & stain a variety of our online products by hand, using high quality spray equipment inside our manual spray booth. While painting experience is a plus, it is not required and all orientation to our equipment and finish level is taught on the job.
The right candidates will have strong attention to detail and quality standards, the ability to memorize our color charts, work quickly & efficiently to batch work by color, as well as the ability to read and keep a production schedule. If you genuinely enjoy putting on your headphones and painting your heart away, this may be a great fit for you, feel free to inquire! Production floor, Shipping floor
The production manager assistant and customer support specialist exists to support the production manager and all supporting teams, including customer service. Any issues related to customer service are handled through a company slack channel with the online customer service team, as well as online logs and apps used to track any support issues.
The ideal candidate in this role can self assess the areas of highest need, serve as liason to the online customer service team to update regarding shop operations. order updates, etc.. as well as assist the production manager in taking any actions needed to improve overall production. Must be highly flexible, able to use online software & apps, and highly communicative as a team leader. As a support specialist, this role is able to support a variety of positions on both floors.
Online / remote positions
Our graphic design and customer support teams work remotely under Tiffany to answer all customer inquiries, provide customer proofs & maintain all customer service relations. Because many questions from online customers pertain to design, our customer service representatives must be competent in our graphic design processes. Some graphic design only positions may at times be available, but customer service positions are not available to non-designers.
Graphic designers are responsible for customizing all orders thru pre-created order templates. A graphic design degree is not required but the ability to pass our company training program in Adobe Illustrator and meet all design standards is required. In addition, designers manage all order queues across all platforms including Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, Walmart & more, updating order status thru our layers of production.
Customer service representatives must complete our brand values & brand voice training (in addition to design training) and follow all online procedures regarding pre-made customer email & in-platform service responses and their modifications. In addition, reps must be able to be proficiently trained quickly in a variety of online tools and CPM systems used to maintain our online presence including Slack, Asana, Gorjas & more.
